MY APPROACH
We’ll start by getting to know each other to see if we work well together. I think it’s important for you to feel comfortable and to build trust in a safe and supportive space. I’ll use a collaborative approach to develop a treatment plan that meets your needs. I use a variety of approaches including strength-based, cognitive behavioral therapy, systems therapy and mindfulness.
At our first meeting we will spend most of our time talking about how you ve been feeling recently. I’ll ask questions to better understand your world and why you may be feeling that way. The first session is about us building an initial connection and helping me get a sense of where we should go from there. Everyone is unique, and I like listen and understand in order to know what will work best for you moving forward.
I became a therapist because I have always been fascinated by the variety in people. And curious about how we grow, develop and change. What makes each of us our own person? Why do we get along well with some and not others? There are so many ways to be creative, or successful, or fulfilled. I get satisfaction in helping others to develop insight into themselves, and then use that information to engage fully and successfully with the world.
